Mackenzie Hughes shot an even par 70 that left him tied for eighth at six under, nine shots behind leader Tony Finau at the Cadence Bank Houston Open.
Adam Hadwin also shot a 70 that left him tied for 15th at five under.

PGA Tour Champions
Stephen Ames is solo sixth after he shot his second consecutive three-under 68 in Saturday’s third round of the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Phoenix.
With one round remaining, Ames is 12 under. Padraig Harrington leads at 21 under and has a five-shot lead on Steven Alker. Alker and Harrington are the only two players who can win the season-long Charles Schwab Cup.

Toronto’s Richard T. Lee goes into the final round of the Asian Tour International Series Egypt three shots off the lead after he shot a third round, one under 69 on Saturday.
At 12 under, Lee is tied for second with Bernd Wiesberger. They trail American Andy Ogletree, who shot a 65 on Saturday to get to 15 under going into Sunday’s finale.
Alena Sharp shot a one-over 71 and finished the second round of the Pelican Women’s Championship in Belleair, Fla., in a tie for 43rd.
Maude-Aimee Leblanc also shot a 71 and is tied for 58th at even par.
Brooke Henderson withdrew on Saturday.
