Tour Roundup: Henderson Four Off The Lead With One To Go In New Jersey

June 11, 2022 By GNN

Brooke Henderson had just one bogey as she shot a one-under 70 in the second round of the ShopRite LPGA Classic in Gallaway, N.J. on Saturday.

At five under through the first two rounds, she goes into Sunday’s finale in a tie for ninth, four shots off the lead.

“I feel like I rubbed too many edges today, so hopefully (Sunday), they can all fall and I can have a great day climbing up the leaderboard,” said Henderson.

“This course can be really tricky at times, so it’s really important to place the ball around and just hit it in good spots and give yourself a lot of good birdie looks,” she said.

“There are some really tricky holes that sometimes, par is just good on, but other holes, there are a lot of birdie opportunities. Hopefully I can just continue to hit the ball well and make kind of more birdies than I did today,” she added..

The leaderboard is here.

PGA Tour Champions

Stephen Ames shot a two-under 70 in the second round of the American Family Insurance Championship in Madison, Wisc.
