Mike Weir is just one shot off the lead after opening the Ascension Charity Classic in St. Louis with a five-under 66 on Friday.
Weir goes into the weekend tied for third at the PGA Tour Champions event.
Stephen Ames shot an even par 71 and is tied for 45th, while Alan McLean of London, Ont., finished the day with a 74 and is tied for 75th.
