With just one hole to complete at the new Chevron Championship near Houston, Brooke Henderson is tied for sixth at five under, three shots behind leader A Lim Kim.
Second round play was suspended due to darkness at 8 p.m. local time. Play will resume Saturday at 7 a.m. with Henderson four under on the day through 17 holes.
Henderson was bogey-free through her first nine as she had consecutive bogeys on the first two holes and on the eighth and ninth. She bogeyed the 12th hole, but had consecutive birdies again on 13 and 14 before a bogey on 15.
“It was a great start to the day. Four under through the front nine felt great. Unfortunately, kind of made a birdie, made a bogey on the back nine and I couldn’t really get it rolling, but it looks like I have a good chance to make birdie on 18, which would be a great way to finish the round,” said Henderson.
Maddie Szeryk shot a 73 and is tied for 48th at even par. Maude-Aimee Leblanc completed a round of 72, but at three over, is beneath the cutline.
